MAYOR’S NOTICE OF CITY HOURS
FY 2020-2021 Approved Budget
From the Mayor
A Personal Message From the Mayor:
Happy 4th of July to all the fine citizens of Coffee City
Celebrate responsibly and safely. Take time to reflect on the history of our independence. Our country, with all its faults, is still the best.
“On July 4th, the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence, which had been written largely by Jefferson. Though the vote for actual independence took place on July 2nd, from then on the 4th became the day that was celebrated as the birth of American independence.” (https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/july-4th)
So, as our country struggles to re-open, we are fortunate that our local businesses were able to remain open to support our community needs.
Even though our emergency declaration expired in June, we are still not out of the woods yet with this disease. So caution is still the name of the game. The good news is that Coffee City has still had no reported cases of CoVid-19. As of this writing, Gov. Abbot is requiring masks to be worn in public spaces.
My hope is that each one of our citizens continues to abide by the cautions as set forth by the CDC, frequent hand-washing, masks when in public and social distancing. City Hall is open, but still remains closed to the public in an effort to keep our employees safe.
Prayers for a happy and safe holiday!
