City Offices will be closed JANUARY 20 – Martin Luther King holiday
From the Mayor
New beginnings, what a wonderful thought as we embark on a New Year with all the promise that it holds for the future of Coffee City.
As 2019 was a year of transition for me, I am proud of the small accomplishments I have been able to achieve. Like I said, this year holds the promise of even more opportunities for our fine community.
During last year:
- We upgraded our website, and even though it is still a work in progress, this upgrade will offer many opportunities for the residents of Coffee City to connect and keep informed with what is going on in our community.
- We had two Town Halls with relatively good turn-out.
- The EDC is currently working on two development prospects.
- The City is planning for upgrades to the Community Center and the installation of a small playground to compliment the Community Center and provide a safe place for children to play.
We have scheduled another Town Hall in February to allow our residents to meet and greet the candidates running for election or re-election, so don’t miss out.
I am seeking citizens to become involved with the City Council to form steering committees and provide insights that will better our community.
Please check out the website and check us out on Facebook. Sign up for our email newsletter through the City website, we promise not to sell your contact information or fill your inbox with unsolicited emails. Our desire is to connect with you to provide notifications of special events.
Come by, let’s have coffee!
My office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays-10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. To schedule a meeting or call, please contact Doug Davis, City Secretary at (903)-876-3414.
